Alex Call, Shohei Ohtani lead Dodgers past Rockies

Downing-Imagn Images Alex Call and Shohei Ohtani homered, Emmet Sheehan tossed six solid innings and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 11-4 in Denver on Tuesday night.
Call tied a career high with four hits, including a double and two singles to along with the home run. Will Smith had three hits and Freddie Freeman, Teoscar Hernandez, Mookie Betts and Miguel Rojas had two hits apiece for Los Angeles.
The Dodgers have won four of their last five games after a four-game skid.
Kyle Karros hit his first major league home run, Brenton Doyle also went deep and Ezequiel Tovar and Warming Bernabel had two hits each for Colorado, which had its four-game winning streak snapped.
The Dodgers jumped on starter Austin Gomber in the first inning. With two outs, Smith walked and Freeman and Hernandez hit back-to-back doubles to give Los Angeles a 2-0 lead.
Call hit the first pitch of the second inning 453 feet into the stands in left field, his fourth of the season, and two outs later Ohtani hit his 44th homer into the Rockies bullpen.
The Dodgers batted around in the third to extend the lead. Freeman and Hernandez hit one-out singles, and after Gomber fanned Andy Pages, Call, Rojas and Buddy Kennedy followed with RBI singles to make it 7-0.
Gomber (0-7) allowed seven runs on nine hits in three innings.
Colorado got on the board in the fourth inning. Bernabel led off with an infield single but was thrown out trying to go to second on an overthrow. Tovar followed with a single and after Karros struck out, Doyle homered to left-center field, his 12th of the season.
The Rockies crept closer in the sixth when Karros hit a two-run homer to left. Sheehan (4-2) left after allowing four runs on six hits and striking out seven.
Los Angeles pulled away in the seventh. Pages scored on a passed ball, Call came home on Ohtani's forceout and Smith had a two-out RBI single.
Smith added an RBI single in the ninth.
