Another Famous Samoan Football Player Slowly Backs Away From The Manti Te'o Scandal
We told you earlier how Arizona Cardinals fullback Reagan Maui'a told ESPN he had met Lennay Kekua, which is rather odd because she doesn't actually exist. But also buried in that report was Kekua's reference to another famous Samoan football player:
Reagan Maui'a, an Arizona Cardinals fullback, said he believes Kekua existed because he met her in person when he and other Polynesian teammates and Pittsburgh Steelers star Troy Polamalu went to do charity work in American Samoa in June 2011.
Polamalu is not quoted in the story, and the story doesn't say anything about Polamalu actually meeting Kekua. But that apparently hasn't stopped a lot of people from wondering whether Polamalu was hiding any details about all this in that famous head of hair of his. Maui'a eventually felt the need to send a tweet to set the record straight, but click to embiggen and be sure to take notice who re-tweeted it.
Got it? Good.
