Haddad Maia, 29, is ranked No. 40 in the world and has four career WTA Tour singles titles.
"I'm ending my 2025 season a little earlier than planned so I can rest my body and mind for a longer period," she wrote in an Instagram post. "Be sure that I will be back stronger and the best is yet to come."
Haddad Maia had difficulty breathing and her hands were shaking during a match at last week's Korea Open in Seoul, prompting medical personnel to check her blood pressure.
Haddad Maia peaked at No. 10 in the world rankings in June 2023.
