Clinton Portis, who last played through an injury-plagued year in 2010, will officially announce his retirement Thursday at a news conference at Redskins Park. Portis was fabulous for the better part of seven seasons in Denver and Washington, but his legacy might suffer from the fact that he played on some pretty terrible teams, and came to DC in the deal that sent future Hall of Famer Champ Bailey to the Broncos.

And, yes, there's the craziness. The costumes, the characters, Portis was always willing and able to give an honest quote or liven up a slow news day. If it's what he wants to do, he's got a future in TV.
