Confessed Gambling Addict Arrested For More Alleged Airport Scamming
Earlier this year, we were introduced to the strange, sad case of Michael Borovetz, who shared his life story on a poker forum. A chemical engineer who found himself addicted to poker, pai gow, and baccarat, Borovetz found himself reduced to scamming strangers at the Las Vegas airport. He was aware enough to know he was addicted, but said he was helpless to stop—and needed the money to bankroll his WSOP play.
He's apparently taken the show on the road. This week, Borovetz was arrested at Charlotte International Airport, and is accused of attempting to scam at least five different passengers by giving them fake stories, and asking for $200 from each.
Below, our story from June on Borovetz, with links to his enthralling confessions on the Two Plus Two forums.
