Cubs Fan Carted Off Wrigley Field After Falling Onto Warning Track During Rain Delay
Photo credit: Nam Huh/ [object Object] During a rain delay before the Cubs-Braves game this evening, a fan fell over the right field bleachers and onto the warning track. He lay there immobilized for about five minutes, and medics in the stadium attended to him. The fan did not move until they stretchered him onto a cart and drove him off the field. Three medics turned the man over and put a neck brace on him before they moved him to the cart, and a fan in the stadium recorded video of him receiving treatment.
Photos showed the fan sprawled out in the mud before medical personnel could attend to him:
The Cubs released a short statement, saying that the fan was in the hospital without a prognosis yet:
Prior to tonight’s game, a fan was injured after attempting to jump onto the field from the Wrigley Field bleachers. The fan was taken by paramedics to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. We are unable to provide further comment on his condition at this time. We will remain in contact with the fan’s family to stay updated on his progress.
We’ll update this post when more information becomes available.
