Cubs return OF Owen Caissie to major league roster

Mandatory Credit: David Banks-Imagn Images The Chicago Cubs recalled outfielder Owen Caissie from Triple-A Iowa in advance of Saturday's home game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
To make room on the active roster, outfielder Kevin Alcantara was optioned to Triple-A.
Caissie, 23, made his major league debut Aug. 14 as right fielder Kyle Tucker was struggling to produce and batted .208 with one home run and four RBIs in 11 games, including a run of three consecutive games starting for Tucker when he batted .375 with his home run.
The highly regarded outfield prospect, who was a second-round draft pick by the San Diego Padres in 2020, was batting .286 with 22 home runs and 55 RBIs in 99 games at Iowa this season.
Alcantara, 23, was 1-for-6 in three games for the Cubs this season and has gone 2-for-17 in six games over two seasons with the club.
