Cyclist Wins, Promptly Eats Shit
From the 2014 Tour of Somerville in New Jersey, 18-year-old Noah Granigan celebrated his tight victory in the junior criterium race with arms raised . . . and then immediately went down hard, sliding a good thirty feet past the finish.
"At least he won," one spectator said.
"I looked like I hit something. I had a pretty big gap, so I got a little too excited, excited I won the race," Granigan told MyCentralJersey.com. "I'm guessing every cyclist has fallen before."
No stranger to crashing, he also ate it this year in a cyclocross race (granted, that's much more common).
Granigan can console himself with the fact that in cycling everybody falls, but not everybody wins.
