Rebilas-Imagn Images Former three-weight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis was apprehended Wednesday on charges of attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment and battery, Miami Gardens (Fla.) Police Department announced.
Davis, 31, was being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.
Per the Miami Gardens Police Department, Davis was taken into custody without incident by local and federal law enforcement as he left a retail store in Miami.
The arrest came approximately two weeks after a warrant was issued in connection with an incident reported on Oct. 27. Ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel accused Davis of attacking and restraining her while she was working as a cocktail server at Tootsie's Cabaret strip club in Miami.
Per the police report, Davis grabbed Rossel by her hair and throat and told her, "You think I would not find you?"
Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) is the current World Boxing Association lightweight champion (135 pounds) and a former super featherweight and super lightweight champ. He was in line to fight Jake Paul in November before being pulled from the card after the lawsuit was filed.
A prior domestic violence case against Davis in August was dropped after the alleged victim declined to prosecute. He also was sentenced to 90 days house arrest and three years probation for a hit-and-run case in Baltimore in 2023.
