The University of Minnesota's football team has had little to savor for some time. Last week, head coach Jerry Kill suffered a seizure on the sideline, though he was released from the hospital yesterday and was back at practice soon afterward. And the Gophers, who have had just three winning seasons since 2000, are already 0-2, including a loss at home last week to New Mexico State. But this video, which is a promotion for a "Gold Out" for Saturday's game against Miami (Ohio)? It's got Midnight Star in all its sequined splendor, complete with parachute pants, pastels and big hair. It's got Goldy Gopher beaming with excitement as everything—from the Mall of America to a co-ed's T-shirt—turns to gold, just as the song says it does. It's got moonwalking and a no-look Midas touch, for cryin' out loud. No, Ryan. Minnesota football can't win. It might as well have this.
