It's Tough To Pass A Grenade Off Your Head
We're now eight hours in on this project, and we'll say this: We're about to pull the same stunt on our television that these soccer fans almost did after their team lost last week.
Two Palmeiras fans were detained at a federal highway police checkpoint Sunday night following the team's 3-1 loss to Cruzeiro in Sao Paulo, the federal highway police said in a statement. The fans were carrying an American-made grenade and confessed they were going to throw it at the bus transporting Cruzeiro fans back to the team's hometown of Belo Horizonte, about 340 miles northeast of Sao Paulo, police said.
We hope no one uses this as some sort of excuse to take away Brazillians' fundamental right to own grenades. If you make owning grenades criminal, only soccer fans will have grenades. Or something like that.
