J.J. Watt Has No Patience For The Foolishness Of Lesser Humans
When it was announced that Titans rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger would be starting today's game against the Texans, Mettenberger responded by taking a few celebratory selfies. This did not sit well with Texans All-Pro defensive end J.J. Watt, because J.J. Watt is a monster who exists solely to crush weaker life forms, and he simply cannot tolerate any tomfoolery.
In the fourth quarter, Watt sacked Mettenberger and busted out a celebration that featured him taking a fake selfie over the quarterback's crumpled body. He was asked about it after the game:
Mettenberger shouldn't take this too personally, though, because Watt will even say stuff like this about his own teammates. Grantland's Robert Mays wrote a great profile of Watt in the offseason, which included the star's thoughts on teaming up with rookie sensation Jadeveon Clowney on the defensive line:
"I haven't really thought about it at all," Watt says of his new teammate. "What I told him when he got drafted was, 'Listen, I don't care what people have said about you before. I don't care about what you're going to do. I'm basing everything I see on what I see with my own two eyes: how hard you work, how much you study. I'm going to be an open book.'
"Now, I can't make anybody learn. I can't make a guy work hard. I can't make him come in and do extra work. But if he wants it, I'm here."
It is very possible that nobody takes football more seriously than J.J. Watt.
