Liverpool Are Back
Man, that formation change really did revitalize their season, didn't it? After idly futzing around with the ball for practically the entire first half of the season, unable to do the one thing they did so well last year—score—Liverpool now are back to booting 'em in every which way.
The snapshot from above comes from this Philippe Coutinho strike in stoppage time of their FA Cup match against Bolton earlier today:
The soaring then sinking shot gave the Reds their 2-1 victory on a day when it looked like luck (and the goal posts) would conspire to keep their dominance from being reflected on the scoresheet.
Bolton scored first against the run of play in the 59th minute and looked like they might just hang on for the win, before Raheem Sterling and Emre Can combined for this Neymar-Messi-esque chip and volley in the final five minutes of regulation:
Liverpool have won seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, have clawed their way back into the Premier League top-four race, and are again dazzling spectators with their break-neck attacks and mesmerizing goals. Let's see if they can keep it up.
