Marjory Stoneman Douglas QB Commits To D-III School After Hiding With Recruiters During Shooting
source: [object Object] Marjory Stoneman Douglas football player Tyler Goodman was meeting with Nichols College assistant coach St. Clair Ryan and dean of admissions Paul Brower during last month’s shooting which killed 17 people at the high school. Goodman had not seriously considered attending Nichols, a D-III school in Massachusetts, but after he spent the shooting with Ryan and Brower, he says he formed a bond with them, one that persuaded him to join their team.
Goodman committed to Nichols last month, but he recently told Boston’s Fox 25 News why:
Being stuck with two recruiting coaches for three hours in such a tragic moment, we kind of formed that bond ... We formed something special there.
The quarterback said he hopes to wear No. 17 at Nichols in order to honor the 17 victims of the shooting, which included his assistant football coach Aaron Feis and athletic director Chris Hixon.
