NASCAR Drivers, Fans Issue Complaints About "Patriotic" Anthem Rendition
Yesterday's over-the-top performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" by pro-war, anti-immigrant buttrockers Madison Rising left observers at Daytona International Speedway shaking their heads or outright insulted.
Driver Brad Keselowski, who'd been caught on camera seemingly holding back laughter at the performance, said: “I wish they'd just sing the damn song, that's my reaction.”
They didn't get very good reviews in the grandstands, either.
“I'm the biggest rock fan there is, and I was cussing and spitting bullets when they played that,” race fan and Speedway volunteer Richard Lytle of Ocala said afterward.
