Ohio State's Adolphus Washington Suspended After Getting Arrested In Prostitution Sting
Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer just announced that defensive tackle Adolphus Washington will be suspended for the Fiesta Bowl, due to a violation of team policy. The suspension comes just two days after Washington was arrested for trying to solicit an undercover cop.
According to court documents, Washington was arrested at a Columbus hotel after agreeing to pay an undercover cop $100 for oral sex. Washington came to the hotel after answering an ad for an escort that police had posted on Backpage.com. ABC 6 has more details:
Once in the hotel room, Washington told the officer he wanted a “short stay” at the hotel, authorities say. He was told that a short stay would cost $60. The documents state Washington took cash out of his pocket and said he had $100. He reportedly asked the officer if she had change.
The officer said she did not have change; Washington responded: “Well, what will $100 get me?”
Washington, a senior, was an integral part of Ohio State’s defense this year, and projects as an early round pick in the NFL draft. He has been charged with a first-degree misdemeanor, and will appear in court on Dec. 17.
