Panthers acquire G Daniil Tarasov from Blue Jackets

Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-Imagn Images The Florida Panthers acquired goaltender Daniil Tarasov from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a fifth-round pick in this weekend's draft.
The deal announced on Thursday gives the back-to-back Stanley Cup champions a potential future successor to netminder Sergei Bobrovsky. Tarasov, 26, and Bobrovsky, 36, share a hometown in Novokuznetsk, Russia.
Tarasov finished 7-10-2 with one shutout, a 3.54 goals-against average and an .881 save percentage in 20 games in 2024-25, his fourth season with the Blue Jackets.
Drafted in the third round by Columbus in 2017, the 6-foot-5 Tarasov is 19-34-6 with a 3.44 GAA and an .898 save percentage in 65 career appearances.
