Penn State Not Done Honoring Joe Paterno
Photo: John Beale/ [object Object] The Penn State Nittany Lions plan to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the debut of late head coach Joe Paterno, who knew about sexual abuse allegations against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky since 1976, according to unsealed court documents.
Onward State first reported the team’s plans, which will happen during a Sept. 17 game against Temple. The Penn State football promotions page has a brief description, though it looks like they tried to bury this one.
Commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Coach Joe Paterno - Activities during the game will take place to commemorate Joe Paterno’s first game as the head football coach at Penn State — September 17, 1966.
It’s unclear as to exactly how Paterno will be commemorated during the game. May I suggest not at all?
