PGA Golfer Robert Allenby Allegedly Kidnapped, Beaten In Hawaii
Australian golfer Robert Allenby says an unknown assailant kidnapped him from a Hawaii wine bar Friday night and proceeded to beat and rob him before dropping the PGA pro seven miles away in a park.
That's via Golf Channel reporter Steve Sands, who spoke with Allenby's caddie. Allenby was not scheduled to play today at the Sony Open, as he missed the cut; while his caddie was with him at the wine bar, neither the caddie nor a friend were present at the moment of the alleged kidnapping.
Sands reported police were examining surveillance video to try and piece together what had happened.
