Mandatory Credit: Bruce Kluckhohn-Imagn Images Minnesota Timberwolves star guard Anthony Edwards will miss two weeks with a right hamstring sprain, ESPN reported Monday.
Edwards exited early from Sunday night's win against the Indiana Pacers due to right hamstring tightness.
He was ruled out later in the first half as Minnesota went on to beat Indiana 114-110 in Minneapolis.
Edwards converted a layup in traffic 3:07 into the game to give the Timberwolves a 13-5 lead. One second later, the Pacers called timeout and Minnesota sent in Bones Hyland to replace Edwards.
The three-time All-Star had five points and one rebound before his departure. He averaged 36 points in Minnesota's first two games of the season.
Edwards, 24, was the No. 1 pick of the 2020 NBA Draft and has averages of 23.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game over 384 career games (366 starts) with Minnesota.
The Timberwolves host the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. A two-week timeline means Edwards could miss as many as seven or eight games.
