Report: Zach Randolph Accepts Plea Deal, Avoids Jail Time In Marijuana Case
Photo: Andy Lyons/ [object Object] After being arrested last month for felony drug possession with intent to sell, Sacramento Kings forward Zach Randolph has cut a plea deal that will allow him to avoid jail time, TMZ reports. Online court records show a hearing is scheduled for an “arraignment and plea” in Randolph’s case tomorrow morning.
The deal reportedly will have Randolph plead no contest to a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, while the marijuana charge gets dismissed. In exchange, Randolph will be sentenced to 150 hours of community service, per TMZ. If he does all his community service and stays out of trouble for a year, he can then have the resisting-arrest charge taken off his record.
Randolph was initially arrested when a mob reportedly confronted police at a housing project in Los Angeles.
