Reports: Packers CB Jaire Alexander undergoes knee surgery
Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (23) reacts after intercepting a pass during the first quarter of the wild card playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, January 14, 2024 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander underwent knee surgery this week to alleviate pain and swelling, multiple outlets reported Wednesday.
Alexander, 27, first tore the PCL in his right knee on Oct. 27 and had played just 10 snaps of one game since. He could return for the Super Bowl, should the playoff-bound Packers advance, per an ESPN report. Alexander had the surgery on Tuesday.
The two-time Pro Bowler had 16 tackles, two interceptions and seven passes defensed in seven starts this season.
He has 12 career interceptions in 78 games (76 starts) since being selected No. 18 overall by the Packers in the 2018 draft.
The Packers (11-5) end their regular season at home against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The Packers need a win and a Washington loss to move up to the No. 6 seed.
