Sports Twitter In Vancouver Is Cutthroat

The Vancouver Canucks Twitter account was just doing its usual Wednesday fan-interaction/brand-optimization-through-social-media thing earlier today when the Whitecaps (MLS) account came over and took a big piss all over the place.

The Canucks tweeted a picture of the inside of the team's home, the Rogers Arena, as personnel worked with large, suspended speakers—perhaps in anticipation of the Great Big Sea concert tonight ( Sabbath tomorrow!)—and asked followers if they ever wondered where the sound in the arena came from. It was an innocent behind-the-scenes look inside the arena It was also the perfect setup for the Whitecaps, who mimicked the tweet, appending an image of its fans enjoying a game at nearby BC Place.
