Steve Kerr After Warriors Squelched By Pacers: "It's Hard To Win An NBA Game If You Don't Put Forth An Effort At All"
credits: Andy Lyons | source: [object Object] The Pacers beat the Warriors for the second time in as many weeks tonight, and this time, it wasn’t close. For last week’s loss, at least, Golden State could claim that they were shorthanded—with Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry all sidelined. But all of those guys except Curry were back on the floor tonight, and the result still wasn’t pretty. Indiana led by double digits for the entire second half before coasting to the 126-106 win.
This game doesn’t really mean anything; Golden State has a firm grip on the second seed in the West. But head coach Steve Kerr was still pissed:
“I think just caring—caring in general—was the main problem. Just trying, you know? Cutting hard, driving, maybe boxing out once in a while. Just in general, it’s hard to win an NBA game if you don’t put forth an effort at all.
“Yeah, I’m mad. I’m embarrassed. I’m embarrassed. I mean, I know that this game doesn’t mean anything in the seeding, but the playoffs start next week. It was an embarrassing effort—a pathetic effort.”
Caring in general, though, is the main problem for every problem. Stop caring. Where are the problems now? You don’t care! Amazing. Let’s try it: I don’t care about this blog post anymore, and neither should you.
