Syracuse QB Eric Dungey Takes Brutal Helmet-To-Helmet Hit, Comes Back In The Game
#25 Pitt beat Syracuse today on a last-second field goal in the Carrier Dome thanks to two rushing touchdowns by RB Qadree Ollison, who has the best name in college football. In the first play of the second half, Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey was laid out with this vicious helmet-to-helmet hit from Pitt linebacker Nicholas Grigsby.
He laid there ominously motionless before hopping directly back up. Incredibly, he was allowed back in the game after a quick evaluation, then a brief trip to the locker room. His replacement only threw one pass before Dungey re-entered the game.
You may recall that a few weeks ago, Dungey was a victim of another act of head-centric violence in a ‘Cuse’s game against Central Michigan. Dungey didn’t return to that game.
