Tennessee lands 5-star recruit Oliviyah Edwards
Tennessee head coach Kim Caldwell in the final minutes of the loss to Texas in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA college basketball tournament on Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Birmingham, AL. Five-star power forward Oliviyah Edwards, one of the top recruits in the Class of 2026, has committed to play at Tennessee.
"BIG OH to the BIG ORANGE I'm blessed and excited to announce my commitment to the University of Tennessee!" she posted Saturday on X, formerly Twitter.
The 6-foot-3 Edwards is ranked fifth overall in the Class of 2026 and ranked the top power forward by 247Sports Composite.
She hails from Washington, where she led the Northwest Greyhounds to the Final Four of the Adidas 3Stripes Select Basketball (3SSB) circuit. She averaged 17.0 points and 7.8 rebounds on 63.5 percent shooting from the field.
Edwards also was recruited by Florida, LSU, South Carolina, Southern California and Washington.
"I chose the University of Tennessee because I felt welcomed from the very beginning," Edwards told ESPN. "The freshman class reached out and made me feel a part of the family right away. Most importantly, I love their style of play and the freedom it gives me on the court. This program has an amazing legacy, and I cannot wait to be a part of it."
Edwards is the first Class of 2026 recruit for coach Kim Caldwell's Lady Vols, and the highest-rated recruit since No. 2 Jordan Horston in 2019.
