This No-Look Drop Shot Is Hot Shit
Long-time Roger Federer victim Philipp Kohlschreiber just played an excellent match, earning two set points in the first set before dropping the tiebreak, then committing some untimely double-faults in his final service game to lose 7-6 (8), 7-5 in the second round at Rotterdam. Kohlschreiber spent the whole match hitting huge, taking risks, and having some fun along the way, as one really should, if one is about to lose to Roger Federer for the 13th straight time. Midway through the second set Federer flicked an absurd half-volley from the baseline while facing the wrong direction, and the world No. 36 managed to upstage him with this no-look drop shot.
Federer is now just one win away from reclaiming the No. 1 ranking and becoming the oldest man to hold that spot. He will play either No. 42 Robin Haase (who has beaten in both previous matches) or No. 259 Tallon Griekspoor (never played).
