Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-Imagn Images Will Zalatoris and Gary Woodland withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open on Wednesday, just hours before their scheduled first-round tee times at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego.
An immediate explanation for the players' absences was not provided by PGA Tour Communications.
The Farmers Insurance Open has been hit hard by withdrawals, with World No. 2 Xander Schauffele and No. 4 Collin Morikawa among the notable absences. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler also isn't there, out as he recovers from a hand injury.
Ryan Moore originally was announced as a replacement Zalatoris, who finished tied for 12th last week at the American Express, but the PGA Tour later announced his withdrawal.
Robert Garrigus was named as the subsequent replacement.
Zalatoris, 28, has one career PGA Tour victory (2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship) under his belt, although he has runner-up finishes at the 2021 Masters, 2022 PGA Championship and 2022 U.S. Open.
He finished tied for 26th at The Sentry and tied for 12th at The American Express to start the 2025 season.
Woodland, 40, has four career PGA Tour wins, the most recent at the 2019 U.S. Open. He tied for 16th in the Sony Open in Hawaii earlier this month.
