You Wanna See Pablo Sandoval's Big Spring Training Belly?
Yeah you do.
The belly above is the subject of a bit of offseason controversy, as Red Sox management allege that they asked Sandoval to lose weight, which he denies. Red Sox manager John Farrell said back in January that Sandoval lost 20 pounds over the offseason, but as the evidence bears out, that seems wrong.
Sandoval also claimed that he hasn’t weighed himself since October. Here’s what he told ESPN:
“I don’t weigh. I don’t weigh in at all,” Sandoval said after being asked how much weight he had lost. “I just do my work, try to do everything I can out there. I don’t weigh at all in the whole offseason. I just try to get better, be in a better position and, like I say, be an athlete.”
He has until April 4 to get himself into playing shape and earn some of those $95 million he signed for last year.
